Blurb: (From Book 1. This is a not so great summary of the series.) This is where the dragons went. They lie ... not dead, not asleep, but ... dormant. And although the space they occupy isn't like normal space, nevertheless they are packed in tightly. They could put you in mind of a can of sardines, if you thought sardines were huge and scaly. And presumably, somewhere, there's a key...

Review: Maybe the funniest series I have ever read. If you've already read a Discworld novel, then I can only say that this series will be better and you'll love it (Super biased as it was my first Discworld series). If you haven't entered Discworld yet, then I think this series is the best starting point. Don't be turned off by the large amount of books, don't be turned off by the weird maze that the series ordering makes, all books can be read as stand-alones, it's just better if you follow a loose ordering.

So there's a-lot to love in this series. The characters, the writing, the city.... The way Pratchett writes conversations is actually beautiful. The most mundane talks can become funny. It keeps you engaged, and it makes the characters more interesting. This extends into the ludicrousness of some characters actions, and especially of the city (Ankh-Morpork). I think that the cast is so varied, especially in the later books, that there's aspects for everyone in this series. The writing doesn't just stand out because of its wit either, the quality itself is amazing. So even if you've never wondered the answer to the question 'what is Nobby Nobbs?', at a bare minimum read the first installment and wait for 'growing out of growing' to hook you.
