Blurb: (From Book 1) For Azoth, survival is precarious. Something you never take for granted. As a guild rat, he's grown up in the slums, and learned to judge people quickly - and to take risks. Risks like apprenticing himself to Durzo Blint.

But to be accepted, Azoth must turn his back on his old life and embrace a new identity and name. As Kylar Stern, he must learn to navigate the assassins' world of dangerous politics and strange magics - and cultivate a flair for death.

Review: Promising first novel, and I mean super promising. The tough-love training combined with a well-written villain in a nice medieval setting got me hooked. I'm a sucker for assassin novels, and I really enjoy looking into the underbelly of medieval cities. I got less and less on board as the world expanded though, and I've got to say that by the end I wouldn't recommend it. I believe that you can read the first novel relatively self-contained however, so in that sense it's a big recommend from me followed up by a trust your own gut.
